Downstream Business Development Lead

The RoleLead Luanda Ports &amp; Terminals Operations. Control daily Container, GC/Bulk operations, Planning, and Safety; plan and monitor terminal capacity to ensure the necessary capacity based on business forecasts and to achieve the Companys profit, revenue, and operational goals.The position is responsible for overseeing daily port activities, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with business goals. This role includes strategic planning, capacity management, stakeholder engagement, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence in line with policies and Principles.&nbsp; Key Responsibilities• Implement, direct, and administer the general policies established; develop the Business Units annual and long-term (business) plans, and plan, develop, and approve specific policies, programs, procedures, and operational methods in line with the general policies.• Ensure there are adequate resources, skilled labour, and equipment to sufficiently support daily operations.• Plan, develop, and implement strategies to accommodate terminal capacity expansion to meet current and future organizational needs.• Take a leadership role in establishing performance indicators for all operational directorate functions and monitor performance against operational goals.• Conduct weekly meetings to report on terminal performance and other significant activities.• Maintain close contact with shipping companies, logistics firms, customs agents, transportation companies, customs authorities, port authorities, and other legal authorities to ensure their requirements are met.• Establish port operations according to plans, standards, and procedures consistent with global policies.• Establish and implement current and long-term goals, objectives, plans, and policies for port operations, technical activities, and expansion.• Provide input for effective strategies to operate the terminal at optimal levels within operational opportunities and constraints.• Be responsible for leading most of the main functions of the Port, maintaining and creating safe working conditions while ensuring and maintaining high productivity and economical operations.• Take a leadership role in selecting, negotiating, and finalizing agreements with suppliers and customers, and where appropriate, be responsible for executing and maintaining agreed service levels.• Provide a working strategy for the IT function and support and contribute to technological and systems development as applicable to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and customer service.• Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures.&nbsp; OTHER• Act as an ambassador at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with the companys Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.• Perform other related duties as assigned.• Implement improvements in work methods, making the necessary recommendations and changes to achieve greater operational efficiency;• Operational Planning Minimum RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS• Relevant tertiary qualification EXPERIENCE• Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience, in a Ports &amp; terminals environment.• Fluent in Portuguese and English• Good computer skills at the user level;• Strong knowledge of port activities.• Organizational skills.• Ability to work under pressure.• Proactive and adaptive profile;• Commitment to confidentiality.&nbsp; SKILLS• Business acumen: The ability to understand financial and economic concepts and principles; to identify, create and/or exploit opportunities, and evaluate business growth and sustainability.• Client centricity: Invest in building relationships, understand client requirements and ensure high standards of quality outputs. Purpose of the Role: <ul><li>Effective Operational Governance &amp; optimization of the service delivery/quality across GBS towers (RTR, PTP, OTC, HTR) – provided by a mix of inhouse / outsourced workforce – across the AMEA region.&nbsp;</li></ul> Responsibilities: <ul><li>As an instrumental part of the Regional GBS support to the BUs in the region, this position will</li><li>Act as intermediary between GBS Delivery teams &amp; BUs to oversee operational governance and feedback loops&nbsp;</li><li>Identify and lead CI / productivity opportunities in RTR, PTP and OTC processes conducted out of GBS, with inputs gathered from the GBS operations team and/ or onshore Finance teams in Business Units (BUs)</li><li>Leverage best practice and globalized standards from across GBS teams for the AMEA GBS Delivery teams&nbsp;</li><li>Lead GBS related strategic Change Management/ communications BUs</li><li>As the onshore focal for GBS operations/ service delivery quality, this position will support the RDP as:</li><li>Custodian of the regional GBS reporting and deliverables calendar/ cadence</li><li>Work with the GBS teams and BUs to ensure major operations escalations / month-end issues are resolved timely</li><li>Oversight of GBS performance metrics (regional metrics and global 3*3 metrics)</li><li>Regional SOX Focal point across RTR, PTP and OTC processes conducted out from GBS. This includes the scrub / review of the GBS controls documentation, as well as coordinating completion of testing.</li><li>Governance of contract with the BPO Service Provider. This includes Roles &amp; Responsibilities/ Service Level Agreement (SLAs)/ Volume &amp; Resource Capacity/ Change Orders / Monthly Invoicing / IT access requests</li></ul> Interfaces: Stakeholders that this position will need to work closely with include:&nbsp; <ul><li>Onshore Financial Controlling and Procurement teams at the BU, Regional and Global levels</li><li>IT teams at the Regional and Global levels</li><li>Global RTR, STP/PTP and OTC Process Leads</li><li>All GBS Delivery teams supporting AMEA – captive and outsourced</li><li>Global and Regional Internal Controls team</li><li>External statutory auditors and internal auditors</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree and 10-15 years of experience in shared services domains, with min of 2 years of experience interacting/ overseeing / performing with outsourced operations teams</li><li>Working operational knowledge of one or more GBS functional domains (RTR, PTP, OTC in particular)&nbsp;</li><li>Proven hands-on experience on implementation of CI / productivity initiatives&nbsp;</li><li>Active experience of working across globally matrixed organizational constructs</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) across levels of the organization</li><li>Good project management skills and ability to influence change. Experience presenting results to an executive team</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; able to pin-point and resolve problems at the source; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve</li><li>Motivated Self-starter; able to deal with ambiguities and requires minimal direction to accomplish goals and problem-solve</li><li>Ability to lead and operate across multiple time zones and geographies</li></ul>

Job description:The business unit head will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing functions for the division’s product portfolio. Reporting directly the senior management team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving commercial success and achieving revenue targets. This is a highly strategic and influential position that requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the consumer industry.Responsibilities:Business management:Develop and implement effective sales strategies for nicotine range of product, targeting multiple sales channels, including retail, pharmacies, supermarket, online, wholesale, and distribution partners.Manage the business unit's P&L, closely monitoring budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and business strategies to enhance brand positioning for sell through.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment to achieve business objectives.Lead and manage the sales and marketing team to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets.New business development:Build business case for new portfolios and/or new product introductions into the country.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective product life cycle management, from launch strategies to lifecycle planning.Conduct market insights and market data analysis for new product introduction from customers and consumersDevelop consumer purchase cycle and product forecast for the products.Marketing implementation:Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential challenges in the competitive environment.Develop and led execution an omnichannel experience strategy to optimize customer engagement and maximize sales and marketing efforts.Engage key influencers and trade stakeholders to promote products effectively.Requirements:A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing roles within the consumer industryProven track record of driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and effectively managing P&L for product portfolios.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.In-depth knowledge of the consumer area especially OTC, including key products and market dynamics.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:Support Business Development Specialist/Consultant on business development process from market analysis, screening and evaluation of opportunities including strategic fit assessments, developing key business principles, managing due diligence execution, performing risk assessments, developing and negotiating term sheets and definitive transaction agreements through to transaction closure and integration planning. Progress opportunities and transactions through the company’s defined stage-gates, and prioritize investment proposals against internal investment criteria and corporate strategies.Support downstream business development activities including: (i) creating and developing partnerships along the downstream value chain in refining, petrochemicals, marketing including wholesale & retail, logistics and storage; (ii) developing business proposals; (iii) identifying risks with mitigation plans; and (iv) identifying suitable partnership strategies and business models to maximize value creation for the company. Support business portfolio optimization and identify synergies between assets and affiliates; manage development and negotiations of commercial agreements; provide administrative direction to junior Business Development Analysts in reviewing legal documents which include head of terms, memorandums of understanding (MoU), letters of intent (LoI), cost sharing agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, feedstock supply agreements, product supply and offtake agreements. Additionally, pursue opportunities for product marketing and technology licensing, as applicable.Participate in developing techno-economic analysis, financial analysis and valuations of target assets including familiarity with the different valuation methodologies (discounted cash flow (DCF), trading multiples and precedent transactions). Develop negotiation and transaction/project execution strategies.Utilize available market data to develop market and sector analysis, and competitive landscape assessments as part of proactive origination of opportunities.Prepare management briefings, board papers and presentations.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical preferable, or other disciplines), Business, Finance or Economics. MBA or a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred. Professional Certifications (preferred): Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).Minimum of 9 years of professional experience in downstream business development, with a strong track record of technical, economic and commercial experience in downstream businesses such as refining, petrochemicals, marketing (wholesale & retail), lubricant, logistics and storage, with a deep understanding of associated operations, optimization and value-chain integration.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and demonstrated experience navigating and influencing complex internal stakeholder groups and negotiating with prospective partners and service providers to ensure successful business outcomes for the company.Good grasp of international business and cross-cultural professional practices.Demonstrated experience in executing term sheets and definitive agreements typical in downstream transactions, along with management of post-transaction integrations, setup and readiness.
