Responsibilities:Handle process activities such as studies and design modifications in the operating facilitiesDevelop simulation models for assigned operation facilitiesDevelop, review and/or validate plant mass balancesCheck plant performance to ensure it is running up to its designLook for opportunities to optimize operations and implement them accordingly.Use the software simulation programs such as HYSYS and promax.Provide technical direction/support to in-Kingdom and out-of-Kingdom design contractorsFormulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costsLead groups of engineers in the shutdown and start-up phase of existing plants.Participate in standards reviews to assure inclusion of requirements that are of practical benefit to field operation and maintenance in regard to safety and efficiency of the plant.Provide guidance on standards development through technical committee participation. Interprets standards and recommends changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements.Lead unit performance and capacity tests and prepare testing proceduresConduct risk assessmentConduct process equipment performance test, for heat exchangers e.g. reboilers, fin-fan coolers, rotating equipment,Lead performance test for static equipment e.g. column, separator etc.Lead performance test for fired equipment and converters including catalyst performance.Lead driers break-through test and issue test result report including desiccant replacement plan.Lead propane refrigeration system performance testEvaluate the catalyst recovery performanceLead solution (DGA / TEG) filtration system performance test. Evaluate DGA/TEG monthly lossesIssue report covering bottlenecks, deficiencies, and recommendations and follow-up on the implementationLead process and equipment optimization studiesLead feasibility studiesLead PHA and HAZOP studiesInitiate and coordinate ESA'sDevelop implementation plan for critical recommendationsEnsure implementation plan is executed for the system under study and propagated to other applicable systems.Lead Health, Safety and Environmental studiesLead Energy Optimization / Conservation studiesInitiate process safety relief audit studies.Lead Water conservation studiesperform management of change (MOC)verify system operations and performance after implementing the recommendationsRequirements:As a successful candidate you should have a BS in Chemical Engineering with (10) years of experience in relevant gas processing operation facilities in Oil/Gas Industry, knowledge and experience in software simulation programs such as HYSYS and promax and strong knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and aware about the processing codes and standards.You should have excellent experience and knowledge in design and modification, reviewing the standards and how to develop and evaluate studies

Responsibilities:As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:Provide engineering technical support to the Refinery Operations.Perform unit monitoring and performance evaluations.Conduct troubleshooting/assisting operations divisions in resolving Operations related problems.Monitor Advance Process Control and alleviate the constraints to maximize APC utilization.Conduct catalyst performance analysis, yield estimates and life cycle estimation.Lead HAZOP, MOC, Root Cause analysis and incidents investigations.Prepare annual and long range operating plans and objectives.Identify the units constraints and perform debottleneck studies.Conduct engineering studies to improve refinery gross margins.Conduct energy audits and surveys to improve refinery energy performance and energy KPI’s.Provide capital project design reviews and commissioning support.Involve in development of procedures and reviews.Requirements:You must hold a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program. You should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in CCR/Platforming and Naphtha Hydrotreating.Experience in the Crude Unit, Diesel Hydrotreating, Penex ISOM, Merox Units, Amine Treating and Sulfur Recovery Units will be an advantage.You must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices, international standards, and economic principles.

Responsibilities:We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in Crude Distillation and treating processes (Atmospheric distillation, Vacuum distillation, MEROX, etc …) to join our Ras Tanura Refinery Engineering Department under the Downstream Global Manufacturing to support and oversee the performances of facility assets.Your primary role will be to provide exceptional process engineering support, monitoring plant performance, capture optimization opportunities and value-creation programs for the operation of crude Distillation and Treating Units in order to operate safely, reliably, and economically as well as achieve target goals while realizing company strategic imperatives.As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following: Perform in-depth plant monitoring and optimize performance of CDU/VDU units by overseen unit’s operation and economics losses. Ensure issuing detailed reports to recommend changes supported by simulation models’ result to optimize unit operation.Lead unit operations troubleshooting and investigating off-spec. products and plant trips/ upsets and manage the required deliverables. Support Operations during turnaround and unplanned Shutdowns / Startups by understanding the unit operating conditions and transient effects to recommend operations improvementsPerform specific tasks such as, but not limited to catalyst forecast/ evaluation, test runs, de-bottlenecking studies, due-diligence assessment, enhancement studies, HAZOP studies.You will be assigned the Lead Role in process safety management overseeing HAZOP, PSR, SIL, PSSR, QRA, and Alarm Rationalization. Lead HAZOP/Process Safety Reviews of plant operations as well as new modifications.Manage long and short-term projects by proposing major projects to improve safety, reliability and profitability. Prepare design request, budget justifications and detailed implementation plans for economically justifiable projects. Also, develop detailed engineering design packages for in-house process-oriented projects and follow up on implementation.Review in-detail and revise standard work procedures like new operating procedures, instructions, RIMs, alarm and ESD check list, MOC, HAZOP, JSA, Relive valves, plant drawings.Ensure environmental and safety awareness effectiveness with work closely with the facility Safety and Environment management to improve safety and achieve highest environmental standards.Liaise with vendors and technology licensors for process enhancements and changes as well as with Engineering Services Department for any technology assessment and piloting support.Train younger or less- experienced engineers by providing necessary guidance, assessing strengths and skills in need of improvement. Serve as technical mentor/ advisor to enhance the technical knowledge of the engineers through practical field discussions, demonstrations and/or simulations using available engineering aids.Requirements:You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.An advanced degree is preferred.You should have a minimum 15 years of total refinery process unit experience (process engineering and operations) with at least 10 years’ experience in handling Crude distillation units.Exposure to different licensor technologies for Hydrocarbon treating is a plus as well as familiarity with Honeywell UOP or Axens licensed units.You must be Certified PHA/HAZOP leader.Familiarity and understanding of the best practices, design principles, international engineering standards and specifications relevant to operation of the concerned process units are preferred.
