Sr R&D/Product DVL Engineer

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Technical communication to customer, confirm customer application and technical requirement;</li><li>Translate customer’s requirement into engineering specification and provide new product design solution in time;</li><li>Responsible for part list/BOM building, 3D models and 2D drawings, product specifications, application specifications, DFMEA, DVPR, SC/CC list etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Lead the design review for compliance with engineering principles, high voltage standards, customer contract requirements, verification and related specifications.</li><li>Lead design review with cross functional teams to confirm the manufacturing and quality control feasibility.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Leads DV/PV test, responsible for resolving product design and test problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Responsible for FAI review, work with project team to release product in time.&nbsp;</li><li>Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the preproduction stages of new products.&nbsp;</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent majors.</li><li>Work Experience: 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering work experience with electrical components, Motor vehicle connector design.</li><li>Technical Skill &amp; Competencies:</li><li>Working knowledge in industry standard (USCAR LV214,LV215，USCAR 2.0 ) and related product application</li><li>Knowledge in relevant mechanical design and development, including but not limited to, resin and metal material selection, fundamentals of statics, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.</li><li>Expert in 3D Design Applications (such as Creo, Spaceclaim, etc.)</li><li>Proficient in geometric dimensioning &amp; tolerancing (GD&amp;T). Proficient at limit and fit analysis including statistical tolerance analysis.</li><li>Proficient in developing and writing design objectives for product specifications</li><li>In depth knowledge in manufacturing process (machining, molding, stamping, plating, assembly, etc.) with experience driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM)</li><li>Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication both internally and with external customers.</li><li>Ability to work in a global environment – able to accommodate varying time zones and capable of collaborating with individuals across geographies.</li><li>Optimistic when facing difficulties and team work spirit;</li></ul>

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Overall stamping process development, coordinating with interaction processes (Molding, Plating, Assembly) to ensure the best process and cost for F/Gs</li><li>Concept design &amp; proofing for Stamping process and tooling, Process development DOE.</li><li>Technical leader and trouble shooter from LVM to HVM in process development, tooling design &amp; qualification, issue finding and problem solving</li><li>Platforming manufacturing process development.</li><li>Challenge product design for manufacturability and cost feasibility.</li><li>Launch product at rate through FACA/QCPA tools (yield, CPK, OEE…)</li><li>Launch product on time with cross function team.</li><li>Process documentation (DFM，FMEAs, WI, FACA/QCPC…)</li></ul>&nbsp;Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor or above degree in mechanical engineering or related background.</li><li>5+ years die design, Process and Troubleshooting knowledge / experience.</li><li>Strong knowledge of tool fabrication, tool-steel application/selection, heat treating, and plating/coating.</li><li>Strong knowledge of stamping processes.</li><li>Strong understanding of metal material, press machine, auxiliary equipment.</li><li>Understand tolerance calculations and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.</li><li>Data oriented issue finding and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Rich shopfloor hand on experience.</li><li>Sensitive on product cost, know how to drive cost through manufacturing process development &amp; design optimization.</li><li>Fluent in using of basic process development related tools like DFM, PFMEA，DOE，FAA, CTAR, CAD, Pro E</li><li>Knowledge of quality control and quality issue analysis and improvement</li><li>Good teamwork and communication skills。</li><li>Oversea working experience is a plus.</li></ul>

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Lead technical product development of judicious projects from market definition through production and release.</li><li>Act as a core team member for mechanical design and design leader for cross-functional teams in concert with the project manager.</li><li>Train colleagues on technical tools and processes.</li><li>Leverage understanding of competitive products and intellectual property for the department.</li><li>Execute on multiple projects concurrently driving technology and product decisions with the team.</li><li>Exercise influence within the department by participating in design reviews of colleagues’ projects.</li><li>Contribute to technical initiatives within the department.</li><li>Drive customer and supplier communications.</li><li>Execute the product development through stages of concept, design, validation, and industrialization.</li><li>Concept new products using engineering tools to create 3D CAD models and work with a cross-functional team to jointly refine these concepts into manufacturable, cost-effective products.</li><li>Perform engineering analysis including mechanical simulations on key features such as spring beams, latches, and compliant pins.</li><li>Create 2D drawings with geometric dimensions and tolerances and conduct tolerance analysis to ensure design intent can be achieved.</li><li>Write specifications and technical documentation including design objectives, application guidelines, validation test plans, and qualification reports.</li><li>Coordinate and support the creation of engineering prototypes and customer samples, formalizing features as needed.</li><li>Work with manufacturing to reconcile dimensionally measured products to 2D drawings.</li><li>Coordinate validation and qualification testing on products to ensure design objectives are met.</li><li>Conduct failure analysis as needed using tools such as CT scans, cross sections, and tear downs to find the root cause for issues and implement solutions.</li><li>Maintain engineering documentation and history files.</li><li>Keep account to the project team on deliverables including honoring timeline commitments.</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering.</li><li>5 years or more of mechanical engineering product development experience.</li><li>Engineering experience in connector and cable assembly industry strongly preferred.</li><li>Participation in full product development cycle from establishing customer requirements to releasing qualified design to production.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD applications, PTC Creo preferred, Ansys SpaceClaim beneficial.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAE simulation applications, Ansys preferred.</li><li>Ability in geometric dimensions and tolerances and tolerance analysis.</li><li>Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, plating, and assembly.</li><li>Design for manufacturing (DFM) to address customer requirements including mechanical, environmental, electrical, manufacturing, and cost.</li><li>Strong interpersonal communication and cross functional teamwork skills.</li><li>Ability to work in a global environment</li></ul>

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Lead the development of power connector solutions, including sockets, high-speed connectors, and cable assemblies, from market definition through production and release, collaborating closely with customers, Product Managers, Sales, and Field Application Engineers to gather actionable Voice of Customer (VOC) insights.</li><li>Conceive innovative concepts for power connector products and perform feasibility studies, conducting mechanical and thermal simulations to evaluate design performance in real-world conditions.</li><li>Develop engineering evaluations and proposals focused on power connector applications, creating detailed designs, including 2D and 3D drawings, and performing Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and tolerance analysis.</li><li>Build prototype samples of power connectors, conduct validation testing to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards, and complete product qualification processes to finalize specifications.</li><li>Provide technical support to Operations, including Quality and Production teams, to enhance efficiency and ensure safe product launches, proactively resolving product-related issues and managing Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and Product Change Notifications (PCN).</li><li>Develop a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs in power connectivity, fostering connections between business engineering teams and customer engineering teams to deliver optimal solutions.</li><li>Follow the LEAN Product Development (LEANPD) Project Process to ensure timely completion of new product development projects while adhering to quality standards and budget constraints, driving product development through stage-gate reviews.</li><li>Collaborate with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and external suppliers to meet technical, quality, and cost objectives specific to power connectors, providing thorough technical support to customer-facing teams.</li><li>Execute comprehensive technical documentation, including design drawings, engineering change notices, and design history files, ensuring all documentation reflects product specifications and development processes.</li><li>Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design and manufacturing processes for power connectors, utilizing data-driven Responsibilities: <ul><li>Responsible for product development of socket, high-speed connector, and cable assembly solutions from market definition through production and release:</li><li>Work closely with the customer and company Product Managers/Sales/Field Application Engineers in getting the right and clear VOC (voice of customer) and convert to a company design conceptualization and preliminary product specification.&nbsp;</li><li>Conceive concepts and perform feasibility studies.</li><li>Run mechanical and thermal simulations.</li><li>Make the engineering evaluation/proposal to the customer.&nbsp;</li><li>Create the detailed design including 2D/3D drawings and perform DFMEA/tolerance analysis.</li><li>Build prototype samples and perform validation.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete product qualification and finalize product specification.</li><li>Provide technical support to the Operations team including Quality and Production for efficiency improvement and safe launch.</li><li>Resolve product related issues to closure and manage the ECN/PCN (Engineering Change Notification/ Product Change Notification).</li><li>Build a deep understanding of the market and customer needs by fostering a connection between the business engineering teams and the customer engineering teams.</li><li>Maintain a system level understanding of the customer application and the product design/concept necessary for providing a solution to the customers’ expectation.&nbsp;</li><li>Follow the LEANPD Project Process to support the project team from the product development engineering (PDE) perspective to complete the new product development project on time, quality and budget.&nbsp;</li><li>Drive the development and release of product, scale-up through stage-gate reviews, ensuring milestone commitments are maintained.</li><li>Provide technical support to customer, sales, PM and plant teams.
