Senior Director of Operations

Overview: <ul><li>The VP &amp; General Manager of the Sub Vertical will be a senior executive responsible for leading a global business with a P&amp;L of 600-M. S/he will pursue an aggressive growth strategy focused on organic and M&amp;A growth and will build a leadership team equipped to drive new product introduction, go-to-market expansion, manufacturing excellence, and entry into product adjacencies through acquisitions.&nbsp;</li><li>The candidate will bring a growth-oriented and entrepreneurial mind-set, excellent commercial acumen and leadership experience, and a hands-on leadership style. </li><li>The role will appeal to those with aspirations for further personal and career growth as the company seeks to further enhance the overall bench-strength for succession for executive-level leadership positions across the company.&nbsp;</li><li>The successful candidate will be part of the leadership team of the Connect Living Solutions business unit and will report to Senior VP &amp; General Manager of the Connect Living Solutions business unit. The role will be based remotely with requirement to travel globally to customers, partners and manufacturing locations.&nbsp;</li></ul> Responsibilities:&nbsp; Year Success Factors: <ul><li>Assess the product portfolio and refresh the key growth and margin expansion assumptions in the 5-year post-merger integration business plan.</li><li>Partner with M&amp;A team to drive successful integration and deliver on deal model.</li><li>Implement an execution cadence to drive execution of key levers in the 5-year post-merger integration business plan and attainment of the quarterly financial targets</li><li>Partner with the VP of Sales &amp; Sr Director Marketing to strengthen the commercial cadence and execution to accelerate top-line growth</li><li>Achieve meaningful improvement in service levels by enhance the capability of the manufacturing / operations team and implementing supply chain solutions that reduce lead time</li><li>Assess the team and develop a comprehensive talent plan</li><li>Drive execution plan related revenue and cost synergy actions as well as the taking a decision on the continuation of portfolio adjacencies.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop a comprehensive plan to expand product portfolio through a combination of strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Partner with Strategy and M&amp;A functional leaders to identify the major inorganic growth opportunities. Activate the M&amp;A pipeline and actively drive pipeline development initiatives.</li></ul> Requirements:&nbsp;Candidate profile: <ul><li>The successful candidate will be an accomplished general manager from a highly regarded Industrial company.&nbsp;</li><li>S/he will be a seasoned operator and growth leader with at least five years of direct experience managing a large, complex Industrial, Appliance or similar business.&nbsp;</li><li>The successful candidate must have a track record of success in leading a truly global organization and interfacing with customers and employees in the diversity of markets in which the business operates.&nbsp;</li><li>S/he will be a hands-on and accountable leader who is able to focus the organization on the most attractive business opportunities and improve the organization’s commercial capabilities in a market that serves both large customers as well as a fragmented customer base through the distribution channel.&nbsp;</li><li>S/he must be action-oriented with a drive to win and a penchant for driving growth maximizing and profitability enhancing strategies. S/he will be an inspirational executive with a real entrepreneurial edge who empowers and holds accountable his or her team to achieve world-class performance in commercial results, product quality, delivery, cost and service while building a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.&nbsp;</li><li>An undergraduate degree in business or engineering is required with an MBA being highly desired.&nbsp;</li></ul> Specific requirements include: <ul><li>Deep working knowledge of Industrial, Appliance or similar product markets, including how to leverage Electronic and Electrical distribution channels.</li><li>A track record of developing business strategies and driving top and bottom-line financial results.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong commercial skills and the proven ability to build strong partnerships with customers and distributors</li><li>M&amp;A acquisition and business unit integration experience.</li></ul>&nbsp;Strategic Growth Mindset: <ul><li>The candidate will have experience in developing business strategies and plans that incorporate competitive issues, trends in the industry, and external factors. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Responsible for the day-to-day operations and longer term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems.&nbsp;</li><li>Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. A key member of TE Energy team, directing Operations and responsible for the planning, controlling, manufacturing, production of goods, and service delivery. </li><li>Operations is also responsible for quality service delivery and supply chain management needed to ensure materials arrive to produce goods and ensure that orders are processed and shipped appropriately. </li><li>In addition to on time deliveries to global customers, the U.S. location is responsible for supplying critical function components to global customers for rapid end item configurations and delivery to customers.&nbsp;</li><li>Direct oversight to ensure that operations is running efficiently and effectively, and that demand is met.&nbsp;</li><li>Partner with the BU General Manager and other senior leaders in a matrixed organization in the development and formulation of long and short-range strategic planning, budgets (including capital investment), policies, programs, and objectives.&nbsp;</li><li>Drive innovation management through the business keeping abreast of market trends and creatively applying new technologies across the entire operations value chain.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and oversee Quality and Continuous Improvement (TEOA) initiatives to enable the BU to meet or exceed plan targets. This includes manufacturing, procurement, and business processes.&nbsp;</li><li>Define required strategies and define infrastructures and organizational structures to meet company, customer and market expectations proactively. </li><li>Develop, coordinate and drive the operations plans and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure that products and processes conform to established customer and company standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Cascade strategic objectives for Operations functional leadership. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for direct and matrixed reports based on the strategic direction and needs of the business.&nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment that promotes employee wellbeing, engagement &amp; quality of life.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop and deliver clear and concise communications both up, down, and sideways across the organization.&nbsp;</li><li>Organize Plant and supplier’s capacity and technical capabilities to meet planned production schedules.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and oversee operational activities with the objective of maximizing the use of organizational resources to meet and/or exceed established KPI’s (TEOA (Lean), Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.).&nbsp;</li><li>Drive organization structures and programs (footprint changes, migration/localization, new product launch, process and equipment requirements) to meet BU/regional goals.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and oversee the full value chain from procurement and production to shipment and beyond.&nbsp;</li><li>Work actively with supply chain leaders to ensure that supply is consistently synchronized to demand to maximize revenue and delivery performance.&nbsp;</li><li>Take a holistic view of global capacity and through the S&amp;OP process plan the necessary global capacity expansions or shifts to align regional supply to regional demand.&nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with Plant Controllers and Plant Managers to understand spending activities &amp; trends, how they match up to targets, and course correct. </li><li>Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals&nbsp;</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>In this section, list the core requirements for this job.&nbsp;</li><li>Next to each, list the level of proficiency desired for this job.
