Job description

Overview:


  • The VP & General Manager of the Sub Vertical will be a senior executive responsible for leading a global business with a P&L of 600-M. S/he will pursue an aggressive growth strategy focused on organic and M&A growth and will build a leadership team equipped to drive new product introduction, go-to-market expansion, manufacturing excellence, and entry into product adjacencies through acquisitions. 
  • The candidate will bring a growth-oriented and entrepreneurial mind-set, excellent commercial acumen and leadership experience, and a hands-on leadership style.
  • The role will appeal to those with aspirations for further personal and career growth as the company seeks to further enhance the overall bench-strength for succession for executive-level leadership positions across the company. 
  • The successful candidate will be part of the leadership team of the Connect Living Solutions business unit and will report to Senior VP & General Manager of the Connect Living Solutions business unit. The role will be based remotely with requirement to travel globally to customers, partners and manufacturing locations. 


Responsibilities: 


Year Success Factors:


  • Assess the product portfolio and refresh the key growth and margin expansion assumptions in the 5-year post-merger integration business plan.
  • Partner with M&A team to drive successful integration and deliver on deal model.
  • Implement an execution cadence to drive execution of key levers in the 5-year post-merger integration business plan and attainment of the quarterly financial targets
  • Partner with the VP of Sales & Sr Director Marketing to strengthen the commercial cadence and execution to accelerate top-line growth
  • Achieve meaningful improvement in service levels by enhance the capability of the manufacturing / operations team and implementing supply chain solutions that reduce lead time
  • Assess the team and develop a comprehensive talent plan
  • Drive execution plan related revenue and cost synergy actions as well as the taking a decision on the continuation of portfolio adjacencies. 
  • Develop a comprehensive plan to expand product portfolio through a combination of strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Partner with Strategy and M&A functional leaders to identify the major inorganic growth opportunities. Activate the M&A pipeline and actively drive pipeline development initiatives.


Requirements:

 

Candidate profile:


  • The successful candidate will be an accomplished general manager from a highly regarded Industrial company. 
  • S/he will be a seasoned operator and growth leader with at least five years of direct experience managing a large, complex Industrial, Appliance or similar business. 
  • The successful candidate must have a track record of success in leading a truly global organization and interfacing with customers and employees in the diversity of markets in which the business operates. 
  • S/he will be a hands-on and accountable leader who is able to focus the organization on the most attractive business opportunities and improve the organization’s commercial capabilities in a market that serves both large customers as well as a fragmented customer base through the distribution channel. 
  • S/he must be action-oriented with a drive to win and a penchant for driving growth maximizing and profitability enhancing strategies. S/he will be an inspirational executive with a real entrepreneurial edge who empowers and holds accountable his or her team to achieve world-class performance in commercial results, product quality, delivery, cost and service while building a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. 
  • An undergraduate degree in business or engineering is required with an MBA being highly desired. 


Specific requirements include:


  • Deep working knowledge of Industrial, Appliance or similar product markets, including how to leverage Electronic and Electrical distribution channels.
  • A track record of developing business strategies and driving top and bottom-line financial results. 
  • Strong commercial skills and the proven ability to build strong partnerships with customers and distributors
  • M&A acquisition and business unit integration experience.

  • The candidate will have experience in developing business strategies and plans that incorporate competitive issues, trends in the industry, and external factors. His/her planning experience should cover a range of products and/or markets and address the full range of organizational implications. 
  • S/he should understand how to integrate market and competitive trends, organizational state, and other issues into a coherent vision for growth, and link this vision into a series of initiatives and priorities 
  • The candidate will build on his / her M&A and business integration experience to drive pipeline identification and development, build relationships with potential acquisition targets, and execute on deal and post-merger integration activities.
