The Role
Finance Strategic Projects is responsible for leading strategic finance and SSC projects focused on driving and executing strategic initiatives, such as technology implementations, standardisation and centralisation of back office transactional processes and identify continuous improvements opportunities. Will be required to work on cross-functional projects that have a significant impact on the financial performance and operations of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with finance leadership and other key stakeholders to develop and execute the finance and Shared Services function's strategic roadmap. Align finance and Shared Services initiatives with overall corporate objectives and long-term financial goals.
2. Lead and manage finance and SSC related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes. Develop project plans, define milestones, allocate resources, and manage project risks.
3. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within processes. Streamline workflows, implement best practices, and leverage technology to optimize finance and SSC operations.
4. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities, assess profitability, perform cost-benefit analysis, and provide financial insights and recommendations.
5. Support the implementation of financial and other related systems. Coordinate with IT teams and end-users to ensure successful system integration and user adoption.
6. Support change initiatives within the finance and SSC function and across the organization. Contribute to the development of change management strategies, communicate changes effectively, and support stakeholders in adapting to new processes or systems.
7. Identify and develop working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and ensures they are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are engaged and positively participate.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and other business units, to understand their requirements and align project outcomes with their needs. Build strong relationships and engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
9. Manage and ensure timeous and accurate reporting on strategic finance projects and ensure all administration and project record keeping activities are completed timeously and in accordance with relevant policies & procedures.
Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ A minimum of three-year degree in relevant field
▪ Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
EXPERIENCE
▪ 5 – 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
▪ PMP or Prince 2 will be an advantage
SKILLS
▪ Financial Acumen - Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial analysis techniques. Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data.
▪ Project Management - Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Ability to develop project plans, manage resources, track progress, and mitigate risks.
▪ Strategic Thinking - Ability to think strategically and align finance initiatives with the organization's overall strategy. Understand the business context and identify opportunities to drive financial performance improvement.
▪ Change Management - Knowledge of change management principles and experience in driving organizational change. Ability to anticipate and address resistance to change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
