Job description
Job Purpose:
- A Senior Accounting Manager is a key finance leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing financial reporting processes.
- This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of financial records, optimizing accounting procedures, and supporting business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain compliance with tax regulations, audits, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Supervise daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and financial accuracy.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring professional growth and performance.
- Establish accounting policies and procedures to enhance team efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits.
- Ensure adherence to internal and external audit requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through strong accounting practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for financial analysis and decision support.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to present financial insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
