Responsibilities:
Development Strategy:
- You will own the development strategy for the UK onshore pipeline, establishing a clear and competitive approach to sourcing and developing future projects, positioning the business to maximize value through a strategic framework that anticipates both market opportunities and challenges.
Project Sponsorship and Accountability:
- As the project sponsor, you will hold commercial and financial accountability for all UK onshore wind projects, overseeing them from inception to completion.
Business Development and M&A:
- Beyond organic project growth, you’ll actively seek partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions to strengthen the project portfolio. You’ll represent the UK Onshore Wind business on industry bodies across the UK and be a primary advocate for our interests in the market.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- You’ll work closely with teams across other regions, including Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany, promoting best practices and effective, streamlined ways of working.
- You will also coordinate with the Solar & Batteries business to maximize integrated project development opportunities.
Team Leadership:
- Leading a team of around 15 professionals, you will manage Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Stakeholder Managers, and Coordinators, focusing on recruitment, team growth, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Travel:
- This role requires regular business travel within the UK and internationally.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a leader in renewable energy, ideally in onshore wind development and within an international organization.
- Strong drive and motivation, with a balanced focus on people and business.
- A commercial mindset, always seeking improvements and efficiencies.
- Proficiency in communication and influencing, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic, complex issues and negotiations.

- The Head of UK Onshore Development reports to the Director of Development Onshore in Business Area Wind and is a member of the Development Onshore Management Team.
