Head of Construction Solar

Role Description:

• As part of Our Client Business Area Solar and Batteries (SoBa) focuses on developing large-scale solar and battery projects to enable fossil-free living within one generation.
• With a strong portfolio growth in Solar & Battery technologies in Germany and the Netherlands, Our Client is at the forefront of driving impactful change in the renewable energy sector.
• Position: Head of Construction Management
• Location: Berlin, Hamburg, or Amsterdam (Occasional travel within northern Europe expected)

Responsibilities:

Team Development & Staffing:

• Lead the Construction Management team within BU SoBa.
• Coach and guide individual Project Construction Managers towards successful project completion.
• Enhance technical expertise within the team in project management, commissioning, HSE, and quality.
• Define and update construction standards and project management requirements.
• Develop and implement staffing and staff development plans to meet the growing pipeline needs.

Project/Portfolio Management:

• Ensure safe, timely, and budget-conscious delivery of up to 15 large-scale construction projects concurrently.
• Drive up to 20 late-stage development projects towards successful Final Investment Decision.
• Foster and maintain supplier relationships crucial for project construction.
• Lead contract and commercial discussions with third parties for portfolio topics.

Number of Employees/Teams:

• Currently 12 direct reports, with a significant increase expected in the next 12 to 24 months due to a surge in the construction pipeline.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in team management and leadership.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in renewable energy project construction across various countries and multinational environments.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a relevant scientific subject.
• Experience in managing internationally distributed technical teams.
• Proficiency in German language is preferred.

• All main locations of BA SoBa (NL/GER).
