Role Purpose:
- The Head of Manufacturing is accountable for ensuring operational excellence across all plant operations.
- This includes optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery, cost control, quality assurance, and team engagement.
- The role involves streamlining production processes, maximizing capacity utilization, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture across multiple manufacturing plants.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Strategizing:
- Production Scheduling & Optimization: Develop and optimize production schedules to ensure efficient capacity utilization and timely delivery. Identify and resolve production constraints to meet targets consistently.
Budgeting:
- Prepare and approve budgets for materials, machinery, human resources, and other operational requirements to ensure production goals are met within financial constraints.
- Policy, Process Design, Implementation, and Review
- Process Design: Create and implement efficient, plant-specific production processes that align with global quality standards.
- Quality Control & Tracking: Implement tracking systems for production and quality control, utilizing data analysis to identify issues and guide decisions on inventory, staffing, and work procedures.
Coordination and Internal/External Interactions:
- Internal Collaboration: Foster collaboration with internal teams (e.g., Accounts, HR, Sales, Procurement) to align manufacturing processes, optimize resource sharing, and ensure best practices.
- External Collaboration: Engage with customers, clients, contractors, and industry research organizations to meet manufacturing standards and stay abreast of technological and process innovations.
- Inter-plant Collaboration: Work closely with other plant heads/managers to share insights, promote best practices, and maintain consistency across plants.
Performance, Capability, and Morale Management:
- Performance Management: Oversee personnel performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals, encouraging continuous improvement through coaching and performance reviews.
- Team Morale & Motivation: Cultivate a positive work environment by providing constructive feedback, recognition, and fostering teamwork to motivate employees.
Infrastructure and Technology Investment & Management:
- ERP System Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of production-related data within the ERP system, facilitating efficient operations and decision-making.
- Technology Infrastructure Investment: Collaborate with senior leadership to secure investments in technology and infrastructure to enhance operational capabilities.
Maintenance Oversight:
- Oversee the maintenance of plant facilities and machinery, ensuring timely upkeep and readiness to meet production demands.
Requirements:
- Technical and Process Knowledge
- In-depth expertise in manufacturing processes, including LEAN, OEE, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.

- Strong ability to translate business goals into actionable manufacturing strategies, optimizing both short-term operations and long-term objectives.
