Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our food manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment used in our production processes.
- The role requires a deep understanding of food industry standards and regulations, as well as a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Design electrical systems and components for new and existing equipment.
- Develop and implement electrical control systems for automation and process improvements.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical installations and modifications comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage electrical projects from concept through to completion.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, maintenance activities, and project progress.
- Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in the electrical engineering field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and automation.
- Familiarity with food industry regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, USDA).
- Proficient in CAD software and electrical design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Certification in electrical safety (e.g., NFPA 70E).
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and holidays, as needed.
