Contract Advisor

Our Client operates in the Oil and Energy industry, with its headquarters rooted strongly in Saudi Arabia. It has its branches spread to more than 50 countries, providing employment to more than 68,500 people all over the world. They fall under the Fortune 500 Companies. They are one of the world’s largest oil producers. They are constantly growing by creating new technologies through its Research and Development efforts and branch into new business lines through Investments and Acquisitions.

Role Description:

• We are seeking an experienced contracts advisor to join our Unconventional Resources Engineering and project Management Department/Contracting team.

Responsibilities:

• Provides complex technical advice and support to contract proponents from the conception of contract service requirements through the execution of a contract to the termination of the contract or service requirements.
• Directs and participates in the development of engineering and financial studies that establish feasibilities for contract services and evaluation for alternatives that may be technical, financial and/or procedural/administrative.
• Coordinates in the development of a professional level of analyses of Company risk or exposure.
• Coordinates the development of a professional level of analysis and technical qualification of bidders.
• Develops professional-level presentations to Executive Management, and makes presentations or participates in the presentations to Services Review Committee.
• Participates as the contract proponent representative in a professional analysis of bid response and negotiation offers and preparation of counter offers.
• Negotiates with contractors as part of a negotiating team comprised of Contracting and contract proponent representatives. 
• Coordinates or participates in the preparation of responses to contractor claims and represents the proponent on Claim Review Panels.

Requirements:

• A degree in engineering, business/public administration, political science, law, finance, supply chain management or MIS.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in the petroleum or related industry with experience in operational area. 
• Knowledge of progressively responsible work or contact with auditing, accounting, and contracting techniques and procedures is desirable.
• A high level of fluency in oral and written English is essential.
• The ability to motivate subordinate professional people and to communicate both orally and in writing with
• professional-level people in other fields and senior and executive management both within and outside the Company.
