Description

About our client

Our client is a leading European energy company, which for more than 100 years has electrified industries, supplied energy to people’s homes and modernised the way of living through innovation and cooperation. They now want to make fossil-free living possible within one generation. That's why they are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system through initiatives in renewable production and climate smart energy solutions for their customers. They employ approximately 20,000 people and have operations mainly in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and the UK.

Job description

Role Description:

  • Our partner is one of the largest energy companies in Europe. We make electricity and heat and supply energy to millions of customers.
  • We do this in Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands.
  • With around 21,000 employees, we are enabling a future in which we are less dependent on the use of fossil fuels for our energy.
  • We are at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable energy system. To achieve this ambitious goal, we are looking for talented individuals who, in addition to their passion for their own role, also have a strong team spirit and want to contribute to supporting a meaningful company mission.
  • The Offshore Consenting team is an international team with representation in all our partners key markets.
  • We are involved throughout the offshore wind value chain, from pre-tender, through the tendering phase, project delivery, and throughout the operational phase.
  • We are responsible for securing permits for our partners’s offshore wind portfolio, and for enabling permit compliance during project delivery and operations.
  • In Denmark, our partner and its partners are operating 5 offshore wind farms, including the Vesterhav Nord and Syd projects that were fully commissioned this year.
  • Beyond our current portfolio, we see significant potential for growth in this well-established and core offshore wind market.

Responsibilities:

  • As Senior Consent Manager in Offshore Wind, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our offshore wind projects in Denmark.
  • You will act as a coordinator and problem solver within the organization, working together with different teams and disciplines.
  • In addition, you will be a key contact person externally towards authorities.
  • As Sr. Consent Manager you will have the opportunity to work across all stages of the project including project development, delivery and operations.
  • Given our current portfolio composition in Denmark, the focus will be on enabling permit compliance for our operational assets.
  • Besides a strong content focus, a key part of the role will be to align with projects on their (future) needs and requirements, to proactively plan work and map resource needs, and to procure and manage flexible external (consultant) support as needed.

Consenting Strategy

  • Analyse Consenting requirements, risks, and opportunities to support project selection;
  • Deliver and implement a Consenting Strategy in development projects to support bid preparation.

Obtain Consent

  • Understand, anticipate and communicate which permits, laws and regulations are applicable to our projects.
  • Ensure timely application for and receipt of permits needed to ensure our projects run smoothly.

Enable Consent Compliance

  • Actively track and manage our permit requirements and commitments;
  • Work with project teams and packages to enable full permit compliance of their respective scopes.
  • Engage with and report to permitting authorities (e.g. Energistyrelsen, Miljøstyrelsen, Søfartsstyrelsen) as required or beneficial to the project.

Steer Consent

  • Monitor and anticipate regulatory developments with a potential impact on our permits.
  • Contribute to regulatory developments directly through consultations, or via our industry associations or interest groups.

Requirements:

  • You have an analytical mindset coupled with strong project management-, communication- and interpersonal skills.
  • You can structure and process complex information and discern implications for our business.
  • You can communicate clearly and with authority to stakeholders of varying backgrounds and seniority.
  • Your project management skills enable you to plan and deliver at high quality within agreed timelines.
  • You have experience working in international and multidisciplinary teams and thrive in a dynamic environment, skillfully managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Your excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills allow you to build and maintain positive relationships across diverse teams.
  • You can work well independently and in collaboration with others and have the dedication to see a task through despite challenges.
  • Above all, you consistently prioritise health and safety in all aspects of your work.
  • You can have fun whilst being serious and are serious about having fun.

Next to this you bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the fields of renewable energy, environmental science, sustainability, spatial planning, public administration or another relevant field;
  • Knowledge of (offshore) environmental and spatial planning regulations;
  • Ideally you have relevant professional experience (min. 3 - 5 years) in permit management for offshore wind projects in Denmark in a developer, governmental or consultant role;
  • Alternatively, you have gained (permit management) experience in other renewable energy, or other large infrastructure-, industrial-, or construction projects;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Danish (native or near-native) and English (full working proficiency).

Our Offer:

  • Remuneration will be based on your education and relevant work experience.
  • In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive secondary benefits package, the most important components of which are:
  • A permanent position for 37hours a week (3 months' probation period);
  • We offer you non-contractual bonus up to 6% of annual gross salary;
  • A company pension contribution of 10% of annual gross salary;
  • You receive a 2.5% holiday allowance of your annual gross salary;
  • 25 vacation days with 5 days extra after 9 months of service;
  • Education budget, because we believe it is important that you can continue to develop yourself;
  • Work in a supportive environment with diverse opportunities for learning, growth, and fun;
  • A commitment to a healthy work-life balance where everyone plays to their strengths.
