AVP - Finance

Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing all financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosures.
• Monitor the accounting and finance departments' policies and procedures, collaborating with an executive team in establishing more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company’s ledger.
• Summarizing budget trends, analyzing deficiencies and reporting variances to executives. 
• Provide guidance on complex tax and compliance issues and contribute to the financial strategy discussions.
• Taking care of tax preparation duties or liaising with external tax accountants for tax preparation.
• Manage the accounting teams’ daily accounting operations and various departments, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and general accounting. The incumbent may also handle some of the same financial planning and analysis functions.
• Help drive efficiency throughout the entire company like looking out the business’ internal processes and determine whether there is a better way to handle them. Finding areas to streamline the company—whether via accounting automation, transformation initiatives, or accounting tactics that is necessary for continuous growth.
• An eye for detail towards a business’ change readiness makes it easier to address the inherent risks and opportunities.
• Communication skills is important for business partnering and coordination with various other business units - to provide actionable information and apply the new policies.
• Capable of handling an assortment of accounting related tasks, including reviewing invoices, managing accountants, and negotiating contracts. Additionally, the incumbent must be up to date with local regulations and compliance requirements.
• Leadership and team management skills are must-haves; they need to be able to command their team’s respect, inspire them to act, and ensure that such actions are aligned with your organization’s overall vision.

Requirements:

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the role - 

• Degree holder in Accounting/Finance. Member or recognized accounting bodies (CPA/ CA, CIA or ACCA) preferred.
• At least 10-15 years relevant experience and in managerial or supervisory roles
• Solid training from Big 4 / Large technology organization is a plus.
• Good working knowledge of SAP will be an advantage.
• Self-initiative, well-organized, strong sense of responsibility and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic mindset, problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and business partnership skills
• Good command in written English.
