Physical Distribution Manager

Responsibilities:

• The PD Manager is responsible to direct, manage and coordinate logistics, warehouse, and transportation activities.
• Lead and direct strategic planning for the management and handling of freight, warehousing, and distribution functions at the organization’s warehouse facilities.
• This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
• The PD Manager will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills

Requirements:

Transport:

• Organize the transport in his/her allocated geographical perimeter and interact with the internal and external actors in order to guarantee the continuity and quality of the service to clients, while optimizing costs in compliance with the Group policy.
• Be aware of the transport market, of the actors and of the trends, in order to anticipate impacts on the transport organization for his/her perimeter.
• Define the strategy and transport plans according to the business needs, as described in the specifications.
• Lead negotiations with the suppliers of transport service, from the preselection to the contract agreement including tenders.
• Build the transport plan on his/her allocated geographical perimeter.
• Maintain close relations with the carriers, working with them on the optimization of the transport operations.
• Validate the operational respect of the business specifications
• Ensure a detailed activity reporting (costs, service quality, etc.) on his/her perimeter of activity, and propose improvement plans in collaboration with the concerned Supply Chain Directors.
• Guarantee the implementation and the respect of standards of quality, security and environment as defined by the Group.
• Monitor product import or export processes and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
• Recruit, manage and develop his/her team taking care of the transfer of Know-how.

Warehouse management (3PL):

• Deliver to clients their orders in compliance with the SLA defined by the subsidiaries and according to the Group best practices.
• Optimize the costs to serve (costs, deadline, quality) and ensure the management of related logistic activities in order to ensure clients satisfaction.
• Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
• Ensure full compliance to corporate policy on inventory variance management and control.
• According to the rules defined by the SLA between the subsidiaries/clients and the distribution delivery center, participate with the DOP and the supply chain director of his/her division to the definition of operating rules (quality, deadlines, transfer of information etc).
• Define the budgets and operating costs and size the needed resources to achieve the objectives.
• Steer the EHS policy with the QHSE of the site and ensure that the objectives of the DC are met, especially concerning safety, quality and environment.
• According to the organization, participate to the definition of new strategies regarding distribution and optimization of the Physical distribution with the sales departments, the clients and the customer care
• Build and animate tools and performance indicators of the delivery center.
• Be responsible for the compliance of the DC with the local legislation and the Group rules.
