Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Galley Planning & System Administration, the Analyst will develop and maintain aircraft galley diagrams for customers, for any change to in-flight product and/or service. This role is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and legality of stowage plans, taking into account weight and volume constraints, product consistency, aircraft variations, crew routines and caterer issues. Identifies ways to improve the Galley Planning process and the service offered to customers.


  • Meet the requirements of the Galley Planning description and associated Service Level Agreement for designated customers
  • Develop aircraft galley diagram plans for any change to in-flight product
  • Ensure effectiveness, operational compliance and legality of galley plans
  • Collaborate with the customer to improve the service delivery of in-flight product
  • At the direction of the customer, participate in new aircraft decisions/configuration change decisions to ensure galley plans are appropriate to allow delivery of current and new products
  • Review and recommend rationalization of in-flight product to reduce weight/space used
  • Ensure the accuracy of the in-flight product specification to ensure effective planning and delivery of equipment worldwide
  • Support the development of business cases to drive program improvements
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate communication of catering galley plans and procedures through the web-based platform
  • Create Food Services Messages, route for approval within United, and ensure communication to catering partners
  • In concert with the commercial, culinary and system administration team, support the overall customer relationship strategy
  • Actively seek to continuously improve the Galley Planning/Provisioning service to our customers


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience, ideally in the airline or airline catering field
  • Experience working with large data sets from multiple sources, ideally within a culinary field
  • Experience working cross-functionally with customers and internal teams

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, databases and web-based systems used to create/maintain menu specifications

Language / Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate concisely and confidently with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing
